Our Story

State Bank was established in 1997 by a group of local individuals who wanted to provide Southwest Wyoming with a bank dedicated to serving the financial needs of the community. From the beginning, it embodied the small-town American values of integrity, reciprocity, and quiet perseverance.

The bank was founded on a simple belief: banking should be personal. For over two decades, State Bank maintained the timeless rhythm of local trust and shared responsibility that defines community banking at its best.

In 2021, members of the community came together to purchase State Bank—not to reinvent banking, but to revive its oldest form. Our goal was to extend its reach and relevance while preserving its fundamentals.

Today, State Bank continues to operate with full regulatory compliance and local Wyoming-based management, now integrated with a broader community of shared values. Deposits have grown as people moved their capital to where their values live. Underwriting has become some of the strongest regulators have seen, grounded in long-term relationships. Profitability returned within a few short years, driven not by marketing but by belonging.

The bank's revival was, in truth, a rediscovery of community. At State Bank, our team delivers exceptional customer service paired with financial solutions designed to help you achieve your goals. When you call, you'll reach a real person who knows you—no phone trees, no runaround. Whether you're opening your first checking account or financing your business expansion, we're here to help—because when our neighbors succeed, we all succeed.
