Shane Pickering

Shane Pickering is an accomplished professional with over 24 years of experience in IT and information security for financial institutions. Raised in Evanston, WY, he graduated from Laramie County Community College in 1999 with an A.A.S. degree and Microsoft Certified Professional credentials. He began at Rawlins National Bank as an Information Security Analyst until 2007. He later served at Trona Valley Federal Credit Union, where he managed the IT Department and later became System Security Analyst—reporting regularly to the Board on cybersecurity matters. In 2022, he joined State Bank as Information Security Officer. His achievements include overhauling the bank's IT operations and security infrastructure, modernizing teller systems, deploying new ISP and firewall systems at both branches, implementing MSSP partnerships for penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, and security training, leading the development of Business & Retail mobile banking apps, upgrading the phone system, and providing cybersecurity briefings to the Board. Pickering's ability to manage simultaneous complex responsibilities and implement leading-edge technologies has established him as a core contributor to State Bank's modernization and security posture.
